The Moses Pole is owned, created and designed by Stefan von Bjorn, an A Camera/Steadicam operator in the film and television industry for over 23 years.

It started in 2002

The Mosespole was invented in Vancouver for the film Paycheck because of the set design and not being able to carry the large and cumbersome docking stand on set. Stefan von Bjorn went to the local camera guys referred machinist.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yo_wPMW7U48
